The Kingdom of God “It starts with a seed”

Introduction

Q -Have you ever had a dream or passion that you felt God was calling you into, but you lacked the confidence and faith to step out and pursue it?

Today I want to stories from my own which i believe will you give you faith with the confedance to step out in every place God has for you.

Historical

In 1923 Walt Disney started “The Walt Disney Company”

Started a tiny animated studio in a garage, producing short animated films.

Despite financial struggles and criticism it has now become a global empire from films, theme parks and more.

Lion King is Awesome “I just cant wait to be king”

1994 Jeff Bezos started “Amazon”

Started as an online bookstore run from his garage

Despite financial struggles and criticism it has now become a global empire and also who can’t say they don’t love amazon prime soon i hope he will come up with Amazon Now! before I even want and think it, it should already be in my house.

All these individuals have one thing in common they all had an idea which looked small but it became something great.

When we were kids we all had big dreams but then we grow up.

I know those of you who are listening right now you have dreams and for some of you its fresh dreams and ideas for others it dreams that have long gone faded away.

2000 years ago Jesus came to a people who were in….

Poverty

Sickness

Oppression

crushed dreams

He said “it is time to change the way you think beause the kingdom of God is here.

Everyone is building their own kingdom everyone is trying to live the good life which was most likely coming at the expense of other people.

Jesus is announcing there is a new kingdom like no one has ever seen before come follow me we are starting at new.

And this is the calling Jesus is calling us to are we willing to lay it all down our version of life and receive the true life that he has for us?

Before Jesus my plan was to be an animator, get married, get a nice house, nice car and enjoy my life but then Jesus showed up and rearranged my dreams.

Story - in 2010 I became a follower of Christ.

Set free from Anger, depression, unhealthy thoughts, broken relationships and the list goes on…

I wanted to seek first the kingdom of God.

But seek first his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Seek - Seeking refers to a search for something that is either lost or that is desired. It carries a sense of applied effort toward reaching a specific goal.

Do you desire a comfertable life or adventure with the Holy Spirit?

I wanted to seek first the kingdom of God.

what does that look like?

Call to Jesus

Let me clarify that when I say calling i don’t mean it has to be in church ministry though we are called to different things we first called to be with Jesus.

Intimancy with the Holy Spirit was a high priorty

worship 2 hours a day in these moments i found the Holy Spirit spoke stronghly to me in his presence .

The call the Bible college and its challenge from girlfriend and mum.

The call to college -

Do i continue my all paid for Universty course on Animation or do i do a 360 turn and go to bible college with no job or money to cover it but God was saying yes so i decided to trust him.

I saw God provided money for my fees - Remember the dream about God saying don’t worry the money is coming.

I wanted to know why i was placed on this earth for, what did the Holy Spirit want me to truly do, after all he is my maker so he should know what i am made for.

through that Journey i Learned that he wanted me Pastor, Evangilise and plant as many churches as possible.

As you are having you might be saying to yourself djeef how do i find this calling?

Above all else learn to just be with Jesus is in these moments the Holy Spirit begins to revelas the fathers heart to you.

Sent to Aberdeen for missions Story - I was frustrated that allot of us in our class were going to europe for mission trip and we were being sent to the North East of scotland in the galaxy far far way called Aberdeen.

I was in prayer and telling God how frustred I was about how i had to go to Aberdeen and I felt God say to me.

“As the wind blows to east and to the west you shall blow to the North”

I proceeded to look up where aberdeen was i amazed to see that it was in the north east.

Aberdeen is where….

I met my wife Sarah and I got married

God gave me a woman who was willing to say also what ever you want us to do Jesus we will do it.

Let’s Imagine for a moment that I said no to the call i was feeling in heart from the Holy Spirit, where would i be now?

Remember Numbers 13 - God told moses to send in 12 spies into the promise land to see how the land is though the land was amazing it was ocupied by giants and great cities only 2 out of the 12 said God is with we can do this! the 10 decided that there is no way they could do it and said they should all go home so God said to them you will never enter the promise land but as for Joshua and Caleb they shall see it and enjoy the good of it.

What ever you are feeling God is calling you into know he has gone before you and also he is with you every step of the way.

Sent out -

After my first year at Bible College finished i felt God was calling me to aberdeen but i was not sure becasue that was a big move for me and i started thinking.

Where will I live?

How will i provide for myself?

and the list goes on…

Later my pastor calls me into his office and says him and his wife feel a strong call to aberdeen and that i should go with him and he you did say to me you wanted to pasrtor, evanglise and plant churches here is your chance or you can stay down here in glasgow there is loads of oppurtunies here.

I spoke to my mum her responce was why are you asking me you know what you need to do.

I spoke to my best friend Alex he said why are you asking me you know what you need to do.

Then I took more time to pray and God spoke to me and said “Remember Peter he step out of the book and trusted me, glasgow is your boat your to comfertable here step out into Aberdeen in the waters where i will provide everything you just keep your eyes on me.

God provided everything i needed…

Job, somewhere for me to stay everything i needed God provided.

Here is my point:

Psalm 37:4 ESV

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

In the joureny of seeking first the kingdom of God you will see God begin to us you in ways you may have never considered before.

For example everywhere i have worked i always see miracles of healings -

Story - Waitress in Malmaison Aberdeen her back getting healed.

Story - Chung getting healed and his broken phone working.

Faluire moment - I want to share this final thing.

Don’t get to consumed by the calling God has for you that you lose sight of Jesus and you begin to reply on own strenght.

For sometime I was pasorting a church up in Aberdeen that was a very challenging session if there was anytime the enemy could of taken me and my wife out that was the time, we faced so many challenges it was one of the hardest session of our lives.

We faced challenges from outside the church and inside.

Demonic, finiacel, betryales etc my time with Jesus became less and less the harder things got.

I began asking myself are we still called why would the devil bother with such a small church we are not the biggest and to be honnest i even wrote a letter saying i wanted to quit but beofre I did that I went into prayer and I felt God lead me to read Luke 13:6-9

And he told this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any. So he said to the gardener, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree and did not find any. Cut it down! Why should it even exhaust the soil?’ But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put manure on it. And if indeed it produces fruit in the coming year, so much the better, but if not, you can cut it down.’ ”

So with allot of pain in my heart i gave God a year in that year Covid happened, then speaks to me and my wife to move to glasgow at the same time he was speaking to another couple to move to aberdeen to take over the church and thats eactly what happened we handed the church to this couple and got releaed with God’s blessing and through many leading from the Holy Spirit he lead to a church called Love church which we love and serve in by his grace.

I know there is some of you who are listening right now you want to give up you have had enough but remember the words of Jesus

I have said these things to you so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have affliction, but have courage! I have conquered the world.”

Galatians 6:9 LEB

And let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give up.
